The Department of Early Education and Care publishes a geographically-searchable online directory of
licensed child care programs across the state. If a program you are researching does not appear in
your search results, you may call the
EEC regional licensing office for your area to confirm whether
the program is licensed by EEC. EEC can provide information about restrictions on a license,
non-compliance citations, and sanctions.
Family Child Care programs are licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC). This type of early education and care takes place in the provider's home.
Group and School Age Child Care programs provide early education and care for young children in a community-based setting outside the home.
Funded Care programs are child care programs that are not required to be licensed by EEC because they are part of a public or private K-12 institution. These programs are subject to EEC monitoring requirements because they serve EEC-subsidized children.
